Learn about common Cayenne issues and how to fix them

Problems after 1 year of ownership

So after 1 year of ownership, what repairs and maintenance have I had to do on my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo? I'll break down these items along with what it costed me for the first year of ownership.

Diagnosing vacuum leak (P2404 & P0455)

Have a vacuum leak in your car? I'll walk you through the P2404 and P0455 check engine codes, which I encountered on my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. If you get one of these codes, first check your gas cap. In my case it was the vacuum pump.

Getting coolant leak repaired

Usually when something is wrong with my Porsche Cayenne Turbo, it isn't cheap. My 2008 Cayenne sprung a coolant leak over the last couple of months. It turned out to be the thermostat housing.

Replacing front control arms

My 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo has even more issues at 90k miles! The front lower and upper control arms along with sway bar end links and driveshaft support were bad. Fortunately, it was covered under my Carchex aftermarket warranty.

Clearing water drain ports

The Porsche Cayenne is prone to water intrusion when the drain ports get clogged. I'll show you how to clean the main front drain plugs on my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but this should work for any Cayenne.
